Lindsey lived in Regina as a child and into her teens. She enjoyed the parks and felt safe growing up in North Central where everyone looked out for each other. For a time she moved back to the reserve but change caused her to return to the city. Lindsey met her current partner at a ceremony. She tells us they both live a sober life centred around their culture and ceremonies. This is very important to both of them. They have three children. Alyrah is a very kind, soft spoken respectful 15 year old young lady who loves ceremonies. She helps to take care of her younger siblings. Connor is 8. He also loves ceremonies and singing pow wow with his daddy. Lindsey says her youngest, 1 year old Ayanna, is a gift from God. She came at a time of great loss when Lindsey lost her dad. Like many families the challenges this family faces are day to day expenses and finding good jobs. Lindsey hopes to further her own education to open more employment opportunities and hopes her children succeed in education and employment later in life.
