Finally a sense of peace and safety!  Allen fled Uganda looking for safe asylum and has found it here in Regina.  She has been in the city since November 2023 and welcomed her first child in February 2024, a little boy that she named Terry.  He does cute baby things like putting his legs up in the air which although seems simple, the joy and happiness it brings to Allen is immeasurable.  She is working on finding safe housing and misses her family back in Uganda a lot, but she is staying positive and focusing on her dream of Canadian citizenship that would allow her to work and bring her family here to live.
