Emma, born December 17, 1982, grew up between Regina and Sakimay First Nation. She moved to Regina when she was ten years old. Emma became a mom at 18, and today she is the proud parent of five wonderful children. Her oldest daughter achieved something incredibly meaningful to the whole family as she became the first to graduate in their family. Emma’s eldest son recently moved into his own place. Her second eldest daughter, Payton loves basketball and is a caring big sister, always looking out for her little brothers. Her second eldest son, Zack is the family comedian, bringing laughter into their home and dreaming of playing baseball. Her youngest son, John keeps everyone on their toes and he is full of energy. One of the biggest challenges Emma’s family faces is not having a place to call their own. They have been moving from place to place, and Emma is determined to break the cycle she grew up with, one of constant instability. She wants her children to experience what she never had: a stable home, consistency, and a safe place to call home. Emma’s hopes for the future to finish university and own her own home.
