Kristen is a brave mom on a mission! She moved to Regina at a young age and lived happily in North Central where she was not subjected to racism, and where people looked out for one another. She and her ex-partner met when they were both singers at round dancing ceremonies. Kirsten credits her amazing children with saving her from heartache with their unconditional love and kindness. They are her pride and joy! Kirsten and her family are struggling to find suitable housing which is hard to come by on the income of a single parent. Her hopes for the future centre on the children: that they succeed in life by breaking unproductive cycles; that they continue with their education, thereby beating the system and the statistics; and that they are not part of a broken Indigenous family.
