Martin grew up in Ontario and moved to Regina in 1985, where he got married and they started their family in 1987 when they welcomed their daughter. Martin is currently living in a trailer hoping to have more stable housing for him and his grandchildren. Martin describes his four grandchildren as his inspiration.
