Is there anything more amazing than a grandparent who has made the commitment to raise
their grandchildren? Living on the Muskowekwan First Nation is not easy when the housing is
not big enough to accommodate your family but Rena is doing her best to provide for the kids
and raise them right. You can hear the pride in her voice as she describes each one; “Keylia is
so smart, Lyric is such a hard worker, Aubrey is a sweet girl and Jarrelle has done such a good
job staying away from bad influences on the reserve”. This grandmother is determined to work
tirelessly on her goal of ensuring all three of the kids get their education.
