Resource rich, Buffalo Narrows is Williams’ home community. “Narrows” refers to the area between Peter Pond Lake (formerly Buffalo Lake) and Churchill Lake (formerly Clear Lake). This community is shaped by the fur trade, logging and fishing. In 1998, William moved from the community to enrol in “carpentry training.” This training not only provided employment income but is also a valuable skill. His formative years in Buffalo Narrows informing who he is and are carried with him in memory. He likes to walk, ‘keep busy,’ and shares: “God is good.”
